Dragonvale has a lot of interesting types of dragons. One of them is the insect-like Dragonvale Firefly Dragon. Just like the firefly, this dragon emits light through its tail. There are actually several ways of getting this dragon. Patience is required in breeding this dragon because its elements are similar to the Dragonvale Scorch Dragon. These are some of the methods that players have tried:
- Some players tried breeding the Dragonvale Firefly Dragon by having a Fire Dragon (Dragon 1) and Lightning Dragon (Dragon 2) mate with each other. By doing so, you have a 50/50 chance of getting either a Scorch Dragon or a Firefly Dragon. Just keep on trying and you’ll eventually get the Firefly Dragon. If you keep on getting the Scorch Dragon, just sell it for more coins.
- Some players have tried combining a Fire Dragon and a Poison Dragon to get the Dragonvale Firefly Dragon.
- Others have claimed that they combined a Lava Dragon and a Lightning Dragon. During their first try, they were able to get the Firefly Dragon.
The incubation time of the Firefly Dragon is 3 hours. Since the incubation time and the appearance of the egg is also the same with the Scorch Dragon, you’ll never know what the egg contains until it hatches. Its egg is red in color with a lightning shape in the middle. Upon hatching it, you will receive 2,500 XP. Since the Firefly Dragon has the elements of Fire and Lightning, it needs to be placed in either a Fire habitat or Lightning habitat. It evolves at level 4 and level 7. Additionally, the Dragonvale Firefly Dragon can be purchased at 100 gems and it can be sold for 100,000 coins.

The best combination for a firefly dragon is to breed a firefly dragon and a firefly dragon, JUST KIDDING! you need to breed a scorch dragon and a lightning dragon

I tried flower dragon with a lightning dragon and I got a fireflly.
I was about to hatch mine but I noticed the egg is yellow with flames but it is a firefly
Firefly egg looks different now.. Is yello with red flames
The best combo for firefly I found is scorch and lightning I have gotten ten of them so far
The best way is to do fire (dragon 1) then storm (dragon 2). On some dragon combos you need to do a different dragon with the same element, and it’s like this one. Do storm as your 2nd dragon and not lightning.

I entered Flower (lvl4) as Dragon One and Lightning (lvl4) as Dragon Two, and just got the egg on my first try. Guess Im vary lucky .-. being on level 11, and not able to purchase anything, lol, I’m happy XP

They just now changed the egg and it’s yellow with red flames so you know the difference.
my son just hatched a yellow with red flames and its a firefly thought it was something cool at first lol… glad they changed the egg so u can tell the difference
try the normal lightning and the normal fire dragon

ATTENTION DRAGONVALE PLAYERS
I have found the best way to get dragons with only two element. It is sooooooo simple all you do is reverse the element order so if it is fire then metal when you try to breed all you do is reverse the elements so you would breed metal then fire and it usually worse on the first or second time

Everyone i did this combo and got 2 in a row, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t but do this: a level 7-10 fire dragon in slot 1 and in slot 2 a level 7-10 lightning!

I got the fire fly dragon but the egg has a different patteren
Do fire dragon as first choice in breding guide and quake dragon as your second choice and you will get firefly each time
