Aside from the limited edition Halloween updates of this version, the Dragonvale Sandstorm Dragon has now been added. Now it’s time to discover how to breed and raise this dragon and add it to your dragon family. The latest version has been available since October 18.
The Sandstorm Dragon attracts visitors because of the amazing sounds it produces as it flaps its wings. People can hear the sound of amazing beats and rhythms through the Sandstorm Dragon. With this type of dragon in your dragon zoo, your visitors will have a great time listening to the beats and sounds produced by the Dragonvale Sandstorm Dragon.
To get the Sandstorm Dragon, you can either breed it or purchase it for 1000 gems from the Market. If you decide to breed this dragon, you would have to wait for 2 hours. Take note that it does not earn you gold or XP should you decide to sell this dragon.
The elements of the Dragonvale Sandstorm Dragon are air and earth. Therefore make sure you place it on either an earth or air habitat. Its evolving levels are level 4 and level 7.
These are the earning rates for the Dragonvale Sandstorm Dragon:
At level 1 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 5 coins per minute
At level 2 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 8 coins per minute
At level 3 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 11 coins per minute
At level 4 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 14 coins per minute
At level 5 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 17 coins per minute
At level 6 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 20 coins per minute
At level 7 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 23 coins per minute
At level 8 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 26 coins per minute
At level 9 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 29 coins per minute
At level 10 the Sandstorm Dragon earns 32 coins per minute
In order to successfully breed a Dragonvale Sandstorm Dragon, you need to have an Air Dragon mate with any type of Earth Dragon which includes Crystal Dragon, Lava Dragon, Moss Dragon, Mountain Dragon, Mud Dragon, Quake Dragon and Tree Dragon. If you like the best way in breeding the Sandstorm Dragon, you can combine the Air Dragon with a Mud Dragon and wait for 2 hours

Does dragon vale only go up to level 20? My experience points stopped accumulating when I reached level 20 and I don’t know how to fix it? Can you help me?

It actually stops at level 30 and your experience bar will say ‘MAX’ in the middle.
when you hit lvl 18 you will get the option to buy an grass shrine, this shrine will count the dragons with the attribute of grass. when you’ve raised 50 grass dragons to lvl 10 you will be able to train them to lvl 15 and when you’ve trained 50 dragons(with the grass attribute) you will be able to train your dragons to lvl 20

i have the plant shrine it tells me i have 5 dragons but actually have 15 fully bred how do correct it??

How do you breed sandstorm dragon? For some reason, you cannot breed earth and air dragon. The same with fire and cold dragons so you can’t make blue fire.
you have to use the air dragon and a earth crossbreed dragon to make a sandstorm and same with fire and cold u have to use one or the other type and then use a crossbreed of the 2nd type like fire and a mountain to try and make a blue fire dragon bc mountian has cold and earth which will cover the blue dragons requirements bc u need fire and cold. and the fire dragon covered the fire part and the mountian covered the cold part and for extra it covered earth to idk if using those two will help u get it i was just giving an example tho
you cannot breed opposite dragons. try air and mud for sandstorm and fire and ice for blue fire

You are probably getting another mud dragon. Seems to be what happens to me too, I’ve tried this combo a bunch of times and still getting mud dragons

To get blue fire u need fire level 10 and stormlevel 10 u need to try it loads of times
I tried many different combos for SStorm, but level 10 Earth (primary), and level 10 Blazing (secondary) worked on 1st try! Take it for what it’s worth.
It stops at level 20 but if u updated the app it will start to increase…
About the blue fire , every dragon has an opposite dragon and u can find that u can’t breed bluefire but try fire with any of the mountain many times and u can get blue fire

I’ll help you. I don’t know for the rainbow quite yet, but for sun, do fire on left, storm on right, both dragons have to be level 10 and your park has to be level 13 or higher. Same thing for the moon, but the dragons are scorch on left, storm on right. Hope this helps!

i got rainbow with blazing and mud both level 10. i was trying to get panlong but got that instead. my panlong is breeding right now though. i used fog and lava bot level 10.
YOU HAVE TO BREED THE BLUE FIRE at level 10 and CRYSTAL at level 10. for the moon dragon you have to wait till its night and sun when its sunny for rainbow i have no idea i got my rainbow in the morning though

My Rainbow was conceived at night around 8pm I think it’s completely random, time and combination. My combo was Blazing + Mud by the way:)
I got both the sun and moon by breeding a level 10 and a level 10 cold. I bred the sun at about 8 am and the moon about 8 pm.
Hey for rainbow: You need a rainbow habitat then you have to breed SWAMP AND LAVA

All you have to really do is get a crystal and a bluefire and you get a sun, moon, or rainbow dragon. I got a moon, from trying 8 times. its hard, but its worth it. those two dragons are the most common dragons to get the rare dragons, because my friend did the same and he got rainbow, and he’s now getting another.

once i found another island in the market called the epic breeding island.after that i could buy unlimited breeding caves. i didnt buy the epic breeding cave and the epic breeding cave dissaperd . is this possible?
Saved all my gems to buy the epic island and got the blue fire on my second try with fire and storm and now I have my first 48 hour with blue fire and crystal. Don’t know what it is yet sun, moon or rainbow. Hope that helps.

I got the rainbow dragon by attempting to get the panlong. I bred lava and fog. I still have to wait 34 hours for it to hatch tho. :l

Air dragon and moss dragon both level 10 takes 2 hours to breed and 2 to hatch
I got the sandstorm by breeding air and mud. They were both level 10 and it took 6 or 7 tries.
If you want to get the raimbow dragon you need a lava dragon and a seeawed dragon but its not gona breed the first time. You have to do it 4 to 7 times to get it

For some reason it won’t let me breed air and earth. It keeps saying they are incompatible. Help
It’s because they’re NOT compatible. I just got the Sandstorm (literally, just hatched my egg like 5 minutes ago) by breeding Air on the left and Mud on the right. Because they’re not compatible, you have to breed Air with an Earth HYBRID.. such as Mud, Moss, etc. So try the Air and Mud and see what happens. I got mine on the 3rd try… I was lucky though.. sometimes it can take many more tries. Good luck!!

Hi, I think i have just managed to get my first rainbow dragon by breeding mud and snow dragon at about 11.15 in the morning it was by pure luck I have been trying all different combos, I was going to give up but i think it finally worked. you can’t breed moon and another dragon, It can only be a moon with a moon. I tried doing moon and another, it wouldn’t let me.

4 days ago I bred a BlueFire x Crystal hoping for a Moon dragon at about 10:30pm 48 hours breeding time -.- But in the end I had a Rainbow

Any idea how to get a sandstorm to be + not -? I have tried placing it in the earth habitat instead of the air habitat but that didn’t change it.
If you have a boost of any kind the Sandstorm Dragon will show a + and a -. Since air and earth elements are mutual opposites (in other words, air is earth’s opposite and earth is air’s opposite) and the Sandstorm Dragon has both air and earth as an element, then the dragon will take a + and a -. Frostfire and Blue Fire don’t have this because while fire’s opposite is cold, cold’s opposite is plant. The up side is that even with the hit, the elemental boost outweighs the negative!

That’s b/c you’re getting another tree dragon. Keep trying. If it comes up 8 hours then you’re getting a willow dragon. It takes a while, but when you finally see 2 hours then you’ve finally got it.

They should make an update where u can send things to friends . I’m tired of watching my friends get like 4 leap years and I didnt get even 1 .
You have a point. There’s an award in the game for owning every type of dragon possible. But I discovered this game in February. So because I missed my opportunity altogether for the Bone and Reindeer Dragons, I’ll never achieve that award.
An what about people like you who bred and bred but never got a Leap Year, or those who discovered the game on the 28th of February and couldn’t get to the necessary level in time to breed a Leap Year Dragon? Even if seasonal dragons are released when the season returns, you’d have to wait 4 more years for another chance!
I propose they allow dragon trading; but for a cost. It would be too easy for someone to make money selling their rare dragons. So perhaps each trade could be at the expense of gems. The rarer the dragons in the trade, the more gems it costs to conduct the transaction. Nothing like actually purchasing a dragon, just enough to ensure that breeding is still the most worthwhile way of obtaining the dragon you want, but at the same time making it possible to obtain seasonal dragons you missed.
I got rlly lucky cuz on the last day i got a leap year dragon and i did bluefire+sonic but ur going to have to wait like oh i dont know……… 4 years!!!!! So get those two breeded and get a leap year dragon!!! Hope this helps.

For those having trouble getting a sandstorm dragon, I tried for about a week with every possibility and them I tried air on the left and clover on the left ad I got it the first try.

Hey everyone. To get the blue fire, put a level 10 fire dragon on the left and a level 10 ice dragon on the right. It may take a couple of tries, but I got it on my second.
I don’t breed crystal much because of the long incubation time .. try storm+sonic that should give u either a sun or moon!

I tried just about every hybrid dirt dragon over and over again with no luck. finally, I decided to try Air on left, Crystal on right and on first try, SANDSTORM!!!! I was getting ready to buy a sandstorm with Gems I just purchased becaused I have been wanting that dragon since I first started playing in April 2012. I purchased the Emerald, that cost a pretty penny! Anyone know how to breed an Emerald yet? I am still trying for the Rainbow and Moon too, with no luck!
I got mine with a crystal and a Lichen! This is also how I got my rainbow dragon!(: but if anybody wants a way to try for sun and moon then they should try a storm with lichen. That’s how I got mine too!

Back to the sandstorm dragon topic. I’ve been trying to breed it since… well about a month and nothing. The rainbow and the sandstorm are the only one I am missing. I am at level 26 and have everything else I can get now. Does anyone have any clue how to get one without purchasing it?
I got the rainbow dragon by using lvl 10 crystal with lvl 10 blue fire. Got it the first try with this combo. I tried others and no luck. I’m still trying to get the sun moon panlong and sandstorm with no luck on any of those.
I have managed to get everything so far except the rainbow and the sandstorm….
I am breeding on both the island and the normal breeding cave with various combinations of earth and air dragons…
Is there any combination of the above that seam to work more often.. ? I have literally tried mud+Air 27 times in addition to othe combinations…
